Welcome to Thame

 Women's Institute

Welcome to Thame Women's Institute

Thame Women's Institute was created in 1921 and has continued for over 90 years.

Our activities are many, including some "jam and Jerusalem" but our ladies are so talented that they don't stop there.

In 2012 our Craft Group made an Olympic quilt which raised around £1,000 for ROSIE (Respite for Oxfordshire Sick children).

We meet in Thame Town Hall on the third Monday of every month at 7.30 pm.  Our programmes are varied to suit all tastes.  (See Speaker Programme)

Feel free to come to a meeting, or 'phone Betty on 01844 213489 for a chat

We also have several interest groups:

a book club, which meets every few weeks or so;

a craft group, whose members meet in the Guide HQ and produce amazing work including quilts, decorative cards and more;

a cake club, where the members make themed cakes or puddings and swap recipes (see the photo gallery)

a poetry/play reading group meeting every few weeks. (see photo gallery)

The President for 2013, Betty Parsley, handing over the quilt to George Hedges, Chairman of ROSIE.

The quilt raised over £1.000 at auction.
